I'm an enthusiastic and hardworking designer with a wide skill set that ranges from print design and layout to XHTML/CSS, Flash/Actionscript, HTML email design, and even copywriting and editing. I work full-time as a graphic designer for Cuddledown; however, I'm always interested in freelance jobs.

Why “personable” ?

It's a word that has followed me from performance review to performance review ever since I joined the working world. I pride myself on being easy to work with, gracious about feedback and edits, and positive and reasonable when obstacles crop up.

I also strive to make my designs personable — in other words, clear, engaging, and if appropriate, with a couple of extra details thrown in to make the user smile.

The part of my job I enjoy most is designing for the web. Reading Andy Clarke's Transcending CSS was a career-changing experience that inspired me to absorb everything I could get my hands on about CSS and web standards — and I still feel like I learn something new every day.

Unlike most designers, I started my career as a writer/editor. I'm constantly amazed at how helpful this experience has been during my four years as a visual designer — particularly when it comes to typography and information design. In addition, my background in words enables me to provide copywriting and concepts for projects that might not have the scope or resources for a dedicated copywriter.
