HTML email design
My name is Chris, and I'm a reluctant HTML email expert. As someone who loves the beauty and efficiency of CSS, creating an HTML email breaks my heart every time: Thanks to the varying (in the case of Lotus Notes, barely existent) levels of CSS support among all the email clients out there, if you want your email to display consistently, it's back to using tables for layout and inline styles for formatting.
Like it or not, however, creating HTML emails that display consistently is a big part of my job — and I've even done a few I'm really proud of, which is why I've created a separate area for them here. Who knows, if the Email Standards Project takes off, maybe they'll become my favorite thing ever?
