Flash / ActionScript
Like most standards-aware designers, I think that Flash is a lousy way to build a web site: Flash sites just don't look and feel "right" to most users, including me. However, I think Flash is a wonderful tool for creating supporting animated or interactive content like demos, slideshows, and, of course, eye-catching banner ads.
Learning ActionScript 3.0 last year got me re-excited about Flash, and I now script all the Flash work I do at BT. Even for very small projects, I find that ActionScript gives you smoother animation, smaller file size, and easier maintainence (is there anything worse than opening a 1,000-frame Flash timeline after not having looked at it for year?).
And, yeah, I have to admit that using ActionScript makes me feel cool.

Flash demo for Mobile Controller conferencing product
My role:
Wrote copy and put together storyboard. Designed interface and images in Illustrator. Animated in Flash using ActionScript 3.

A great last project at BT Conferencing. I miss those guys!

XML-driven "Tip of the Day" Flash movie. Tips and branding colors all controlled from external XML files.

Wrote copy, created images in Photoshop, animated with ActionScript in Flash CS3.

Flash animation for (thankfully) aborted early version of this site.

Created illustration in Illustrator, then exported to Flash CS3 and animated with ActionScript.
Misc:
Sometimes you just have to look at a design and admit you're wrong. This site design was all kinds of wrong, but I remain fond of this little piece of it.
